The Route

Waterford Estuary Heritage Boat Tours is located in the South East of Ireland in the picturesque fishing village of Ballyhack, Co Wexford. Ballyhack is located on the Waterford Estuary approximately 25 minutes from the town of New Ross, 40 minutes from Wexford Town and 45 minutes from the city of Waterford. When Travelling from Waterford, Ballyhack can be easily reached by using the Passage East Car Ferry. When Travelling from New Ross or Wexford direction one can also use the signs for the Passage East Car Ferry as a useful guide.

In Safe Hands

The Skipper of the boat is a local man who has extensive knowledge of the Waterford Estuary. From an early age he was involved in the fishing industry and for many years worked as one of the pilots guiding ships into the ports of New Ross and Waterford. His many years of experience working in and around Waterford Harbour, has given him an in-depth knowledge of the Waterford estuary, its tidal tendencies, its folklore and its traditions. The tour Guide has many years’ experience as a tour guide in many of the Hook Peninsula’s iconic heritage attractions. They include Hook Lighthouse, Duncannon Fort, Dunbrody Abbey and has an extensive knowledge of the heritage and history of the area. Over the last number of years, the Guide has successfully completed an Hon’s degree in culture and heritage in Carlow Institute of Technology.
